Our Mission and Purpose

Mission Statement

The mission of the Atlanta Concert Band is to perform concert band and ensemble music, almost always admission-free, for the general public and special audiences with emphasis on introducing children to classical music in a fun atmosphere; to provide individual musicians in the community an outlet to maintain and improve their musical skills and talent; and to assist and encourage young students of music through their participation in the band.

The Atlanta Concert Band relies heavily on the support of the communities we serve. The financial support we receive helps to cover many operational expenses, including: rehearsal and performance space rental, guest artists, music and equipment purchase, printing and marketing, and many other ongoing expenses. Ultimately, your contributions make possible the many public performances the band gives every year, as well as its outreach and educational activities.

The Atlanta Concert Band is incorporated as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, and is supported through private & corporate donations, foundation grants and awards, and grants received through several government arts agencies, including:
